Larry Hitchcock

Larry Hitchcock, CEO of America Creates, began his career in Chicago and New York, where he was a stage designer for modern dance and off-Broadway productions. In New York, Hitchcock began a successful career as designer and production manager for such rock and roll legends as the Allman Brothers, Alice Cooper and David Bowie - ushering in today’s high-tech, multi-media music extravaganzas and many of the technical innovations in touring stages. In 1986, Hitchcock was recruited by Walt Disney Imagineering as a creative vice president. While at Disney, he lead the design and construction of projects including Pleasure Island in Orlando and Festival Disney in Paris, as well as concept development for Disney retail stores, themed hotels and restaurants. Stephanie Leikas

I grew up in Portland and went to school for sculpture. I learned to weld, work with wood, and think like an artist. Now I’m learning how to balance work, a vegetable garden, and find time to turn my basement into a working art studio. I don’t believe in sacrificing aesthetic for concept, (although I recently recycled part of my college thesis project for use as a worm bin). Thought provoking work that has a direction or comment relevant to the present or future world interests me.
