Ordering bactrim online cheap, I recently had the wonderful opportunity to represent America Creates (the new website for American fine artists and craftsmen going live in 2008) at the 13th Annual Northwest Native American Basket Weavers Conference held on October 5th - 7th, 2007. The Niimiipuu tribe, also known as the Nez Perce hosted this very successful event at the Clearwater River Casino located near Lewistown, Idaho. The surrounding country is beautiful and majestic.
There were over 550 registered attendees and many more visited the conference and exhibits. The master weavers displayed their beautiful art work and baskets and many taught weaving classes. Some of the weavers and teachers were children and grandchildren and other relatives of the master weavers. Almost every Native American tribe in the United States and some from Canada were represented at the conference. The baskets and display items were exquisite. The experience of being a participant at this event and sharing the experience with the weavers, the many elders and their friends and family touched my heart and was a humbling experience.
The purpose of these annual events are to allow true beginners and emerging Native American weavers of all ages to come together to learn from Master Weavers and other teachers. It was a great time to meet many talented artists. We all had the opportunity to learn how to weave, learn new techniques, share knowledge and create baskets, ornaments, and much more. I chose to make a very simple basket and it was quite small - and it took me almost a day to make. I never realized how detailed and difficult it is to make even the smallest basket. I learned that the native american tradition is to always gift your first work of art.
On Saturday there was a public forum with demonstrations and panel discussions by the master weavers. There also was a fashion show. Saturday evening there was a traditional banquet and on Sunday the NNABA held their general business meeting and board of director elections.
